Projects Update
Posted April 19, 2007 by ewilliamsCategories: General
Hey, folks!
Just a heads up that Election #2 has been sent off to the printers at Ka-Blam! I’m hoping for it to go on sale this June, if everything in the printing and shipping process goes smoothly. Of course, I’ll keep you guys updated.
Also, I’m going to be working on a very fun little one-shot, likely to be published by Ronin Studios. Expect an official announcement soon – it’ll be some of the first comic work I’ve drawn, but not written.

Spring!
Posted March 31, 2007 by ewilliamsCategories: General
Hey, everyone!
Spring is finally here! After some extremely strange weather, things finally seem to be settling down and warming up! Definitely my favourite season of the year (and by the far the most bearable, with our lovely climate).
Just wanted to stop by and say that Election #2 is nearing completion! Progress on the second issue has been really quick compared to the first, and I’m looking forward to sending it off to the printers in a while! After that, I might either start Election #3, or take a little break and work on some short stories and developing my technique.
I’m also starting to think about universities and colleges, which is a daunting task, to say the least. I always thought I’d want to go to an art college, like OCAD in Toronto, but lately, I’ve been looking at a lot of really cool Humanities programs at the University of Toronto (e.g. Religious Studies and Sociology). But there’s still loads of time to decide, so I’m not too stressed out about it. If I were to go into Humanities, I’d still want to keep up with my artwork – perhaps through one of Kubert School’s correspondance programs.
But that’s just me rambling.
Hope everyone’s enjoying spring as much as I am!

Farewell, Montreal!
Posted March 17, 2007 by ewilliamsCategories: General
Well, this week at my sister’s place in Montreal has been a lot of fun. I bought a few things, including Amnesiac by Radiohead, and a couple of graphic novels (New Avengers – Civil War and X-Factor – Life & Death Matters). I also saw 300, as well as a couple of concerts (all of which are reviewed here – scroll down a bit!).
But now, I must head home and return to the real world. Expect the finished Election #2 cover to go up pretty soon, as well as some new life-drawings. Bye, for now!
The Shins and Viva Voce
Posted March 16, 2007 by ewilliamsCategories: Reviews
Last night, I caught yet another concert while in Montreal (this city is filled to the brim with awesome live shows – I wish I lived here all the time!). This time, I saw The Shins, a great band that’s recently gotten a lot of mainstream exposure from the Garden State soundtrack, as well as cameos on shows such as The Gilmore Girls.
Their opening band, Viva Voce, was…decent. They weren’t painful to listen to, but their songs were quite formulaic and a tad recycled from post-grunge rock. When you’re opening for a band as innovative as The Shins, you’ve got to have some of your own unique flair – unfortunately, these guys didn’t really have any, and were thus quite forgettable. I wish them well, though. They’ve got loads of potential.
And on to the main act. The Shins put on quite the decent show. It felt a bit stretched, since they don’t have too much material to perform, but overall, they did a pretty nice job. They played a number of my favourites, including “Phantom Limb”, “Saint Simon”, “A Comet Appears”, and everyone’s favourites, “New Slang” and “Caring is Creepy”. Their stage presence was a bit awkward for the first couple of songs, but once they got more comfortable, it was all smooth sailing from there.
Overall, I really enjoyed the show. It wasn’t nearly as theatrical and fun as Of Montreal, which I saw earlier this week, but it was good fun, in a sort of “by the book” way.
